You think Geckos can distinguish people by their smells?

Just wondering, it’d be cool, wouldn’t it?^_^

Yes. My vet says they do. I took my leo Monty to the vet and he was totally fine until the vet picked him up, then he gave him back to me and he calmed back down. He said they’re aware of unfamiliar people because they smell different.

They’ve proved reptiles can distinguish people by voice.
Well, the study was on an iguana and he would recognize his owner’s voice but be indifferent to anyone else’s.

every now and then, when i’m in my room at night, my gecko watches me intently until i feed him...so i know he knows i’m a food giver, lol.

And they can distinguish by smell too. :)
