Wild ones are poisonous. It doesn’t matter whether they’re tomato hornworms or tobacco hornworms. Both plants have toxic leaves, so if it’s from the garden, don’t use it.
However, if it’s from a herp food breeder, they use a different diet for them. Those ones, regardless of whether they’re the tomato species or the tobacco species, are a VERY good feeder. One of the best insects you can give, actually. I always get enough to last at least a week when I hit the monthly herp show, and give everybody who’ll eat them as many as they want before the damned things die or pupate.
