though they are similar in the way their bodies are structured etc, they have very different habitats in the wild and really the way you care for herps is by re enacting their habitat. AFTs need higher humidity and different substrate. They are also slightly less hardy and a little more shy than most leos. If you keep them together there are a lot of possible skin problems because of wrong substrate for one or the other. If the humidity is where the AFT needs it, the Leo will get a respiratory infection and if the humidity is where the Leo needs it, the AFT will have chaffing and possible mouth rot/infections from dryness. But the good news is, since yours is a female she will live well with another female Leo. If you want a different looking gecko, there are TONS of readily available Leo morphs, unlike AFTs. So get a different looking Leo to live with her and everyone’s happy and healthy. :) |
