 Feeding...

I feed my AFT every day....I was wondering if that okay.....or am I feeding her too much???....I’ve read so many different things....I just hate for her to be hungry....

She’ll eat until she’s full, most likely.

I’d say feed every other day, four crickets at a time (depending on how big they are in comparison to her head). That’s how much mine eats.

Mine eats about 10 a night during the summer. He gets hungry really fast. He would be starving if he ate 4 every other night, but he’s also a completely different gecko. I’m sure hers is just fine eating that much.
Just put a couple more than you think he can eat during the night..if they’re gone, he’s hungrier than you think he is, if not then he had as much as he wanted.
There’s no set amount that every AFT wants, it varies a lot. Feed as much as she’ll eat and as often as she’ll eat.

my male usually only eat 5-6 crickets every other day, chubbs eats only about 4-5, but rattie and mattie chow down at least 8-10 a piece every other day.
it varies depending on the gecko. if your gecko looks obese then cut back a little.. but in general let them eat as many crickets as they want. i havent had an issue with overweight afts.. they seem to be able to regulate their food intake better than my leos. my leos just pack on the grams like no tomorrow so i have to keep track of their weights.

I feed mine differently for the most part but she eats the same amount as anyone else feeds theirs. Every week i put 12 crickets in her tank and she eats her fill untill they are gone, shes always got one cricket hopping around.

every week?
crickets eat skin off of herps, which is why you’re supposed to take them out every morning.. if there’s a huge mass, they can seriously hurt him but in small numbers like that, they stress her out.
i know i can tell a difference in mine if i leave crickets in there.
