Yeah, I took these just after one of my zoology classes had left the room for lunch, and he was settleing in for nappy time before my next class. He likes to watch my students as they work, especially during our unit on arthropods!

wow! im impressed. a lot of classroom kept afts are usually very stressed (and dont have great setups). your setup looks very nice and he looks so relaxed and happy. my afts are only active in the evenings (minus boomer.. hes always out roaming around).

We’ve got lots of animals at the Zoology club at my school, but because most of the members are lazy (we almost had a bake sale a month ago but only ONE person of about 10-12 people brought something in, even after everyone signed up for something), and no one volunteers, we can’t pay for vet visits. Our Bearded Dragon died Friday because of that. People get sad and freak out, and still don’t do anything even if the reason behind the death is because we don’t raise enough money for vet bills. Ugh.

wow.

You should adopt your animals out to people who can care for them..

sorry were sort of jacking your thread firewolf. and if this discussion continues after this post it should be moved to a new thread so as not to take away from the cuteness of mike.
soveriegngale.. i read how far off your aft habitat was, and i hope we were helpful.. if all the other habitats are that far off then no wonder there are problems. beardies arent mega hard to take care of.. i have two. their initial setup is a little pricey but proper care to prevent problems is pretty cheap. proper care of a reptile should keep vet visits to a minimum
and i agree that if no one want to take care of them or put up the money to take them to the vet and just want to feel sad then i would look into finding them homes away from the zoology club. if no one else wants to take the time to take care of the animals, then the animals shouldnt be forced to suffer, and maybe having some of the animals taken away could be used to prove a point and provide a lesson on responsibility.

I’ll take a larger pic so you can see the whole setup tomorrow. I use sphagnum moss that’s used in decorative planting. It gets really soft when it’s moist, and mike really likes to curl up in it. I also use coco fiber for the substrate.
