dead forum for the past week.
so, i’ll post pictures.

so, ember was doing this..and as we all know, their feet aren’t sticky. he was supporting his entire weight on one foot carefully placed on a ’supportive’ part of the plastic plant.
this was when i was still fed up with cricket babies which explains his carpet..speaking of which i found baby bugs today and will have to clean out tomorrow.

squishy tail butt.

in natural sunlight, for the first time i think.

only his legs are in focus, didn’t do that on purpose but it’s okay.
first stuck scale after a shed too, on his nose. it came right off with a qtip though.

on a completely random side note, i’m going parasailing friday morning and i’m really excited.
:D

aww, thank you :)

i’m a major shutterbug. i actually love real darkroom photography, but all of the courses for that have been contradicting with the classes i actually need to take for a zoology major.. so i’m taking my deprivation out on my animals lately.

oh wow, that’s a lot of moving. is it because of problems with cats? you talked about cats attacking cresties once. my cat doesn’t care about ember anymore..she just likes the crickets, they move faster.

it’s cool your boyfriend loves animals too. kevin loves all of mine, he’s just works a lot more than i do, so water dishes dry up during the day and it’s worse when it’s an amphibian. ember and my salamander vlad and newt pathos have moved from kevin’s to mine so i know about moving tanks. but since we live so close, we walk everything down the street.

that’s a lot of animals. i really hope of moving to england once i use up my bright futures here and get my bachelor’s as fast as possible, and i can’t leave my babies behind..so i’ll figure that out when the time comes, but i’m keeping myself from getting anymore because of that.
:)

you should post pics of all your animals. i can find cute pics of my amphibians, those are my only other herps. :)

lol. we moved ursula today.
ive been wanting to move her tank out of my room just because she LOVES attention.. and when im in school i dont have time to do much more than give her salad in the morning and her bugs every other day. my boyfriend (and his dad) spoil bonzai to no end.. and have a nice big concrete stoop thats awesome for letting them bask. its just so she can have more attention paid to her. plus it opens up A LOT of space for me.. i had a rack in the center of my room for her 40 gallon breeder.. it was very awkward but it was the only place for her tank.
the cresties are coming back to my house because were worried about heat. my house has central air conditioning so i dont have to worry about them having problems from being too warm.. he uses the window units and im just paranoid about one breaking when its 90 degrees and them keeling over. thanks to the massive trees around my house it rarely gets super warm.. plus with ursula out of my room it will be a lot cooler. she has a 200 watt mvb.. gets toasty.
all of this works with me wanting to redo my room a little as well. i can do a foresty/tropical theme.. crested tanks make awesome room additions. lol.. i have two free exoterra tanks ( 12x12x18) and an 18 cube, and a free ten gallon.. boomer will get upgraded to the 18 inch cube i think.. and id like to get something for the smaller exoterra tank.. maybe a small tree frog or something?.. either that or boomers tank would get repurposed for a small gecko like a pictus.

Are African Fat-Tails normally that big? Or are those some kind of morph?
Excuse the dumb questions I just don’t know anything about them.:P

aww. i think ember likes attention, but doesn’t necessarily always want it.
my fire sal follows me around the room in his tank and watches me when i’m in the room though. but it’s been hot out so he just buries and i have to dig the whole tank up to feed him every other day. the only animal that really wants attention from me is my cat, and she follows me everywhere and never shuts up.

i used to want to do my room in a forest theme actually. but i ended up covering my walls with sharpie lyrics, quotes, poems and different things that i liked in this ’write on everything’ phase in high school...and now there’s not a blank space on the wall. ember’s tank isn’t natural looking at all either..my closet door is made of sprite cans. and half of my room glows with my blacklight, so it’s like a mini rave room lights off. lol!
but crestie’s tanks would look really cool in a forest room. it would be a fun excuse to redo any less elaborate tanks to make them forest like or and paint room walls green or something.

i would definitely go with frogs. i think it’s the white’s tree frogs that have cool sounds. it would be cool to hear them sing, especially in mating season.

knob tail geckos are pretty cute too, and they’re relatively small. one of those could probably fit in a 10 gal.

oh and ember is not a morph. he’s a little above average in size i suppose, but he’s normal. :)

slightly different insides, leos have better immune systems.
but the real difference is habitat, and caring for any herp is really only replicating their habitat, feeding and cleaning.
so their care needs are very different.
and they have different skin patterns.
