Patternless Fat Tail
So this $90 patternless (amel) fat tail was sitting at the petstore for months and months, (on sand and in a dry tank) . . . then suddenly the price dropped from $90 to $75, and then again to $35 . . . I called and spoke to a manager, asked about the price drop . . . he hesitated, then told me it was because the fat tail was . . . tempermental, and they just wanted to get rid of it. In other words, it’s a biter. I talked him down to $30. Then after watching him stress the poor thing out for 5 minutes straight trying to get him out of his tank . . . finally I stepped in, said, "Let me, I don’t care if I get bit" Scooped him right up and put him in his travel box. Barely even nipped me . . . it was funny, the manager was a tough guy, and watching him be so nervous about a bite from this gecko . . . Anywho, I’ll post a picture when I get home (I’m working still, did the graveyard shift last night). I’m still half wondering if mabye I just have a stocky, really big (9 1/2 inches snout to tail) leo, but the physical characteristics really seem to say AFT . . . When I post the pic, I’ll also put links up to pics of patternless aft’s . . . I really just want to make 100% sure that it’s a fat tail so I get the husbandry right . . . I guess the only reason I’m a little doubtful still is even $90 is cheap for an amel patternless aft . . .unless the petstore just was unaware of the gem they had . . . |
