 Anoles and longtailed grass lizards

i currently have 2 anoles and 1 grass lizard in the same tank..they seem to like each other i.e. they were laying next to each other resting. the tank is only 10 gallons and i know i probly need a bigger one. will they be fine til i get it? ps im new to the reptile thing but theyre awesome

Hello:
There are lots of schools of thought about mixing species and most of them will tellyou not to do it. As long as the lizards have been quarantined and acclimated I see no reason why they can’t be kept together as long as the terrarium is large and allows for lots of sight barriers (live plants, branches). I have kept Green Anoles (A. carolinensis) with Long Tail Grass Lizards and had no problems. Some of the larger more aggressive anoles such as Cuban Browns might not work as well.

first of all 10 gallons is to small for 2 anoles and the reason your grass lizard isnt eating is probably stress related, from the anoles

it is reccomended that you have a 125 gallon tank if you are going to mix species(quoted from a famous herpetologist)however i think they can be fine

the 2 anoles will eat the grass lizard u mite wake up one morning with just the grass lizards head left and get at least 70 gallon tank at most 100 gallon but 90 should do.

are u insane, do you really believe that an anole could eat a long taILED grass lizard. and the only reason that you would keep the species together is if youre too cheap to spend 8.99 to $10.00 on another cage
