 How can you tell the gender?

My son has had a long tailed grass lizard for a couple of months now. When I went to the pet store today, I thought I would surprise him with another. I totally didn’t even think about whether or not they were males or females. How can you tell the difference? The new one is larger than the one we already had. Does size help tell gender?

one has egenitalls which is the male and the other one has a fergina which is the female.

ignor that idiot ^ The males have a thicker tail than the females and some times get a swollen patch on around there areas.
