Sick &/or Sad Red-Eared Slider Help

I used to have a community of turtles. Now, I’m down to one. Over the years, the other 4 passed on. The one remaining isn’t doing well. I think he’s lonely. I want to get him another friend, but I don’t want to put another turtle into the aquarium with him until he’s better. His shell had algae growth, so I gently scrubbed it with a soft toothbrush as I was told to. The algae growth problem is getting better, but he won’t get out of the water and sun himself. When he had tankmates, they would all stack up on the rocks under the light, but now he just sits at the bottom of the tank under the water. He’s never been by himself before, and I’m wondering if that is his problem. Other than his shell problem, which I’m almost positive is caused by his lack of sunning, he appears completely healthy, and still has his usual hearty appetite. Has anyone else ever had a problem lor anything like this?? I want to help him, but I don’t know what to do for him. His shell is a mess because he won’t get out of the water. I’m going to the pet store today to see about getting some feeder fish and other treats for him, and I will ultimately, at some time, get him a/some new companion(s). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Well, if I relied on you people, he’d be dead by now. Just kidding lol. My Mikey is doing much better now due to some environment changes.
