 Need some advice

I am new here to the forums and have seen some debate over this issue and need some advice.

I have recently changes my substrate in my hermit crab tank to Eco-Earth. I followed all the directions and such and put it in my tank. I placed my hermie in the tank and watched him walk around and dig in the substrate for a while.

He has now completely buried himself in the substrate and I can’t even see him. I know he did not escape so he is in there somewhere. What should I do?

Should I leave him alone?
Should I move things around and un-cover him?
He has been there for 2 days now so I am getting a little worried.

My other hermie has buried himself as well but only partially.

Any thoughts/comments/advice wold be greatly appreciated.............thanks!!

when they dig under they can be stressing or trying to molt i would leave them alone and wait if you start getting a really bad dead fish smell you might have a dead crab

sometimes they dig under because they are stressing and they could be molting i would leave them alone and wait because you really don’t want to dig them up
