I understand your dilemma with the crabs being buried and all that. Mine now both remain underground all day and finally emerge late evening (usually). You never know if they’re going to molt or just want to hide from the daylight, so don’t ever dig ’em out. Perhaps you could set up a small temporary keeper, just use something around the house, and when one comes up put it in the keeper. Continue this untill they all come out and are in the keeper, then do a quick substrate swap and return them to their nice, clean and better smelling crabitat. Oooooor, just stay up really late on the weekend and watch them all night, then take care of business right then and there... |
