 New topic

If you have a new topic or question, feel free to post wherever and whenever you want. There’s no rule stating you can’t form a new thread at your liesure. Thats what this website is for; sharing, helping, information and bragging/worrying about your pets you love so much...
Besides, new threads need to be formed periodically when one gets too long. Don’t you agree it’s a pain in the butt to scroll through a super-long thread created a month ago? So much changes in short periods of time...

 Cleaning...

By the way, your tank should ideally be cleaned once a month (3 months MAX!), especially due to the very humid atmosphere. Sand and eco-earth are cheap enough to replace. I’m sure even if you scoop the poop, there’s still some left, which in a humid environment creates bacteria, and smells funny of course. It’s a good time to get more creative and move furniture around too.

I understand your dilemma with the crabs being buried and all that. Mine now both remain underground all day and finally emerge late evening (usually). You never know if they’re going to molt or just want to hide from the daylight, so don’t ever dig ’em out. Perhaps you could set up a small temporary keeper, just use something around the house, and when one comes up put it in the keeper. Continue this untill they all come out and are in the keeper, then do a quick substrate swap and return them to their nice, clean and better smelling crabitat.

Oooooor, just stay up really late on the weekend and watch them all night, then take care of business right then and there...
