do hermit-crabs ever run around out of there shells and if so why

as far as i know if your hermie is naked there is something seriously wrong,it may have been bullied out of its shell from another crab or maybe it molted and now cant find a good shell,or maybe hes sick,or maybe the shells in the tank have holes in them.Could be alot of reasons but that lil guy needs to get into a shell and fast.

if ur crab is naked you should prolly isolate him with plenty of food, water (including salt water) and clean shells about his size. if he goes too long w/out his shell he will die.
