Six months when that picture was taken, nine months now. She’s had a decent growth spurt recently. I’m tempted to take a new picture right now, but she really hated being woken up. For which I do not blame her a bit. So I’ll wait until daylight.

Feeding time today. She’s been eating so quickly I raised her fuzzy count from two to three. Considering that it STILL only took her about two minutes to eat all three of them, I think I made the right call.


Not bad for a girl who’s due to shed any day now.

Are those peach fuzzies or did you mean pinkies? I got a bag of fuzzies from RodentPro yesterday and they have their first full coat of fur.

Some have full coats, some don’t. To give you an idea of the age range they sold me in one bag, there was every size in there from 2 grams to 10. The size that she’s on right now are five grams each, because I’ve been using up the smallest first. But they were all sold as fuzzies, so that’s what I’ve been calling them for simplicity.

I’ve seen them as low as 40 bucks, but they may have been poor feeders or something. I also tend to see some as high as a hundred, most are in between.
It’s amazing how consistantly everybody can get good pictures of them, isn’t it? I don’t know of any other snake that cooperates so well with being photographed.

Yes you can handle them. Most of them are very nice to handle. Some of them can have be defensive but can get over it with handeling. The venom is mild and the only way you are going to get any in you is if you let one chew on your finger until it gets to the back of the mouth. Even then the only time a Hognose will really chew in your finger like that is if you have a strong food scent on it.
