 Hognose cage size?

these are the dimensions of an extra aquarium i have

length=18 inches
width=17 1/2 inches
hight=18 inches

would this be big enough for an adult hognose?
if not i will buy a bigger 1

Yes for a southern. Yes for a male western. No for a female western. No for an Eastern.
Male westerns are usually kept in 10 or 15 gallon tanks, so that’s got plenty of floor space. Put the heat pad under a corner to maximize thermal gradient. Females are usaully kept in 20 longs, I believe. Mine’s got a 40, but that’s just because she was growing so fast I wasn’t one hundred per cent positive a 20 would end up being big enough. And 40s were on sale. But realistically, I think if temps are right then any WHN that isn’t happy in a 20 long just needs deeper substrate. They do need somelength, though. Your cage probably has more floor space than a 30X12 does, although I’m too lazy to do the actual math, but a foot and a half just isn’t a lot of stretch space. Most people arguing against long cages point out that their snake pretty much never stretches out in anything even close to a straight line even when it’s outside the cage anyway, but that’s not as true of hognoses.

Fine for a male. I’m not sure i would work for a female. Mine’s only a year and half old and I don’t think it would work for even her unless I put like a foot of substrate in it. Which could make actually finding her problematic.
