Don’t know where that is, but catching a horned lizard ANYWHERE in California is illegal without permit. They are all protected in California. Besides, a wild caught horned lizard is not what you want to start out with. They usually don’t do well, and most die within a few months in captivity unless you have a good bit of successful reptile/lizard experience, and are completely prepared in equipment, food, and general knowledge. They can be gotten elsewhere. But I do not recommend a wild caught one, and certainly not one fresh from the wild, as a first. Anyone selling a captive bred horned lizard will say what it is right up front without being asked first. Though there are few people selling captive bred. Some lie too, so buyer beware.
