had any one used the new excavator clay burrowing stuff?

That’s a new zoo med product. My wife works at petco and I need to go check that out. But my initial reaction is that a HL is not going to be able to use this...based on the whole "clay" wording. You might use it to make some cave hides and such though....

Horned Lizards do not dig in hard ground. They only burrow in loose soil and sand. The best substrate for most HL species is calci-sand, and as a cheaper alternative, sterilized playbox sand from Home Depot or the like. If it’s too hard, like clay is, they can’t use it to "burrow" in.
