 Can i buy or catch a hl in oklahoma?

i really want one and i know how to take care of them and what there diet is and if you could help i would be thankful

No, not without permit. All species of HL are protected by the Ok. Dept. of Wildlife Conservation and state game law. They have been considered a year round "closed season" species since 1992, and a game warden can arrest you for taking, trapping, killing, capturing, transporting, or holding a Horned Lizard without permit.

I would encourage you to join the HLCS and apply for the permit while studying the HL requirements first. It is doubtful that you could really be prepared for them if you are not familiar with the laws in Ok. regarding them. This is not a beginner genus of lizard.
