did you know you can just make a small puddle and the lizard will go into it and stand there and the water will go up to its mouth through the ridges in its skin? have any of your lizards shot blood out of there eyes at you?



PS: i dont have a lizard i just watch animal planet alot.

Yes, it’s a capillary action and they drink this way. It’s called rain harvesting. I have also seen mine place a single foot in a dish, and watched as the water travelled up his legs, down his back and finally up the head.

I caught a baby female Horned Lizard not too long ago, and she squirted my hand with blood. But that is rare for them to do it to people, and she only did it once. I have a Regal species from Az. and he sometimes used to threaten by swelling his eyes when I was doing anything medical, etc. to him over a lengthy time. He would get pissed at me, but he never would do it. He’s pretty easy going. I would have to really make him mad to get that reaction.

This is a caracteristic shown by both horned lizards and the thorny devils of Australia. It may be a surprise to learn that they come from difforent families. (Horned lizards from iguanidae and thorny devils from agamidae.)

yea some lizards do shoot blood out of there eyes.i forget what there calld though.i have a mountain horned dragion so i would not know that much
