 So excited!

I’m getting a new mare in two weeks! We’ve decided to buy her and we’re bringing her up to my property in two weeks, which is when our arena will be built. Her name is Esperanza(Espy), but I’m thinking of renaming her Everest. What do you guys think about it?

Anyways, she’s a GREAT horse. She’s an appendix, grey, but for some reason still has a lot of her bay coloring. Great temperament, even when she’s in season. She spooked once, otherwise her behavior has been so great.

Here are some pics!

Good pic of her:

I jumped for the first time today!

CAVALETIES SCARE ME!

I like this picture.

So what do you guys think of her! And yes, I’m aware my two point is very very not perfect.

Thanks! I’m already so in love with her. She’s so great. I’m attending a summer camp from 8:30AM-12PM and I get to ride her for an hour and a half every day for two weeks. It’s so much fun! I’m very new to the horse hobby, and so far I think it’s great!

 So excited!

I just started with horses two years ago. Now I both ride and drive and just started making payments on a driving mini :)

It’s a very fun hobby. I rode western for two years and just started taking English lessons two weeks ago. Always like to learn new things.

The place that owns her keeps all their horses’ tails like that. When I buy her and move her to my property, I’m going to let her tail grow out.

So what do you guys think about the name Everest for her?

 So excited!

Thanks! I got so lucky with Everest.

We’re buying two horses and a pony from the same barn

Everest is going to be my horse(registered under my name!)

Tristen, a dark bay 8 year old 16 hand TB gelding is going to be my mom’s new horse

And we’re getting a 3 year old filly, a welsh pony, chestnut paint but she doesn’t look it. I’ll get pics tomorrow. We’re getting her so I can learn to break a horse. Plus, my mom said she was the fanciest mover my mom had seen in a pony in all her 33 years of riding, so I’m going to show her in pony classes when she’s older.

i’m no pleaser expert. but are you guys suppose to hold the rains that tight? I know my horses have really soft mouths and they would go crazy if i did that. and i did do some shows and got like second place in them, but i sure didn’t have the ranes that tight. but i guess idk.

Everest gets confused if she doesn’t feel a lot of contact. If I don’t hold the reins that tight, she speeds up and doesn’t listen and get confused and stops.

Plus, that’s how my trainer is teaching me. She’s been teaching for a long time.

in most english riding, you have to keep a constant contact. In western and most hunt on the flat riding, the reins aer loose and most signal comes from the leg. If you watch Olympic eventing, the have such a strong contact it looks painfully severe! But it’s not. It’s letting the horse know you’re there and you’re in charge. most horses get confused and upset if there’s no contact maintained. They want a leader!
