Im so sick of meeting girls who think iguanas are ugly. I would choose my iguana over any girl ive met so far in this world and will continue to do so... If a rich, super hot, girl told me shed love to go out with me as long as i got rid of iggy i would hide iggy at a friends house long enough to take all the girls money so that i can buy a bigger room to keep iggy in :) of course just using her for her money to make me and iggy more happy.Nothing makes me more happy then seeing iggy’s reaction to being in the trunk of the car looking at the strange outside world he has yet to experince... I cant wait for summer to come back around so me and him can go for walks in the summer sun getting looks from people fascinated by his large nobel appearance.

I am a girl, but I do agree that women are more "put off" by reptiles more often then men. I love them personally. They are great. I have 2 Beardies, 2 Chams, 3 leopard Geckos, 1 Ball Python, 2 King snakes and I just sold an Ig that I resued. I love reptiles. I really want a boa and a couple of creasted geckos next. They are sweet. I have not met a reptile I didnt like either. I would also like to get a spider, but my husband is scared of them and wont let me.

I’m a girl and I love lizards! I don’t have any iguanas yet, but I think they are beautiful creatures. Most girls don’t like reptiles. When I first told my friends I wanted a lizard their reaction was "Why?!?" lol they thought I was crazy! No one would even suspect I own lizards though, it’s pretty funny to see peoples reactions...    ~Christie

Come on now...plenty of us "girls" like lizards, and snakes, and frogs, and what not. I’ve had reps all through grade school, highschool, college, and beyond. I have rarely, if ever, come across any girl (or guy for that matter) who thought negatively of my animals or of me for having/loving them. If the company you keep doesn’t approve, then you are not keeping the right company. Enough said.

I think alot of it just depends on where the girls grew up. Here all we ever did in the summer was hike thru the desert and catch lizards, but then there was alot of room to run and alot of lizards to see, if you are more urban then maybe the girls there never got to experience the wonders of reptiles at an age BEFORE they understood the word ugly or yucky and lost that childish fearlessness.(it doesnt hurt that i have a younger brother that LOVES reptiles and anything else that moves)

that is why me and my ex girl freidn broke up...
Because she told me eather my iggy or her so i picked my iggys the reasion she wanted me to pick was b/c i had an iggy with me whan i was with her like than we what to her house or to go swiming in her pool i would not go swiming b/c i hade my iggy with me.But now i have a girl friend that has an iguana and a trutle and she cares for her brothers trutles.
She is thwe most caring and loveable girl i ever meet. and i would not be able to live with out her.
And yes she is a member of this site too her name is lizzie
and i meet her on this site too lol

And yes... it is very stupid how anti-reptile some people are, and how they think they are ugly. HOW! I say HOW! could ne one think they are ugly??!! They are soooo pretty!Oh.. and to answer someones question... yes we are only over the internet for now, but hopefully that is soon to change.

Oh yeah....I love herps. I do not want to keep lizards though....they are beautiful.....it is just that I prefer large snakes.
I still love to look at other’s lizards, and visit with them.

i must admit, i never really thought of lizards as beautiful things when i was younger. We’ve always had cute little furry things as pets before, and it never occured to me to have a lizard before. It wasn’t until some time in the past year that i began to like them. A few months ago, i was going though a depression ’phase’, and my parents thought if i had more responcibility (more like something to live for i thought) it would make me happier. So they said i could have a pet. Because we already have two weimaraner dogs that hate rabbits, hamsters and anything cute and furry, i couldnt have anything like that. It wasnt until i was looking on the net for different pets, and i came across iguanas. Now, as it happens, a friend of my dad had an iguana and was looking to sell it! so i jumped at the chnce lol and i love every minute with iggy! lol
