What is it? 
I have an iguana that I have had roughly a year now and just today he left a weird surprise in his cage and I don’t know what it is. It looked like a hard kinda waxy thing. Can someone let me know? Thanks

it sounds like a sperm plug. is your ig a male? if not, than i’m baffled as to what else it could be.. more than probably a sperm plug, though. males excrete them every once and a while once they are sexually mature. from what i understand this usually only happens during breeding season.

I believe he is a male but not positive, he seems to be bulgy down on the tail area. There was 2 of these ( plugs? )on his shelf.

everyone keeps saying that males have this "bulge" by the tail base. the sex of my ig is still undetermined, so i check every indicator of sex as possible. the only "bulge" i can spot is where the vent is; it looks like a lot of bunching up by the vent/base of tail area. can someone post photos of what i should be looking for? i also noticed some changes in the femoral pores- looks like something is sticking out of them a bit-but they still don’t look as big as some of the photos i’ve seen on here of other males’ pores. still no signs of possible egg laying or binding, though i must say iggy looks a lot fatter in the past week, but doesn’t exhibit the usual lumpiness that comes w/ egg carrying. i am finally buying a digital camera and will post pics as soon as i get it!
