 Should i be worried that...

....when i handle Turner, he pretty much goes stiff? his uvb is brand new, his basking temp is right at 95, his humidity level is right above 70 and he has been eating very well (salad comprised of kale, mustard greens, collard greens, shredded squash and zuccini sprinkled with repcal). he does appear very alert when i approach his enclosure, and inches away from me on the backside of his basking branch. he has also been defecating normally as well.

yesterday was the first day i handled him (a week exactly after i got him). he was mellow and didnt try to flea all that much after i had a firm/gentle grip on him. i pet him under his chin and stroked his back. we walked outside so he can feel some natural sun and he did rotate his head around (not bobbing it) and seemed to enjoy his surroundings. my main concern was that his limbs appeared very stiff. is this something they do as a defense mechanism of some sort?

im lagging on posting pix, but i can tell his new enclosure needs to be made within the next 6 months or less!

Well it’s kinda hard to say...Which limb was it? He could have just been stiff from stress of being outside and being handled..... I know my young female does this, she get as stiff as a board..LOL...How old is your iggy? I know you probably posted it one time and I missed it....Sorry......

He could just be freezing up from stress. I was cleaning out an iguana cage at work today and noticed the same thing when I took out the baby iguanas. They struggled a lot at first, but then froze up after they realized they weren’t going to escape.

i think that is the case chris. once he/she realized that it was ’okay’, it kinda relaxed and loosened up.

poc, im not sure of Turners exact age, i’ve had him/her for a week and one day now.

here is a quick pick i snapped today...i was holding Turner and he/she climbed up on top of my macbook...
