 Dirt problem

Ive had this iguana for about 4 months and this problem just started happening.
my iguana has the dirt you find in the pet stores and now he has a habit of digging and the dirt is landing all over his food and water. when that happens he wont eat it anymore and this happens everyday. what should i do ?

You may need to use that green mat that you get at the petstore instead. By dirt do you mean that sand stuff especially made for lizards?

I’m guessing you’re talking about coco bedding? But hopefully you’ll pop by to clarify.

I agree with yoshi. Just lift it up and out of the way. If your iguana swallows it, it shouldn’t be a problem, unless you’re using something like tan bark that can get lodged in a throat.

also i have a coffin cage right now cause the iguana is a baby so i cant lift the food higher
