 Draco’s 2nd Vet Visit

For those who are familiar with what’s been going on with Draco, we went to the vet today for her follow-up visit. Draco got her 2nd dose of flagyl. They drew more blood, did an x-ray, inspected her head, and did another stool sample. The blood tests showed that her phos levels have come back to a normal level. The x-ray was normal and there were no signs of eggs or any foreign bodies in the head. The stool sample still showed small amounts of the giardia. Right now she is eating and has been basking since we came back from the vet about 2 hrs ago. Hopefully her condition improves. We have another appointment in a month to make sure everything is ok.

Well good to here everything came out clean.. did you ask the vet about a cream or anything you could put on her for soothing her itching?

Also, I was thinking..you know how when you get water in your ears you kinda itch it or stick your finger in your ear and shake it? Well, if she got water or something in her ear...she might be trying to get it out.. I wonder if iggys can get ear infections?? Just a thought.. good to here she is doing better though! :)

Take care! Lauren~

Hmm... no I didn’t ask about any kind of creams, but that doesn’t sound like a bad idea. He said that if it was still going on in a month, the last thing that he could do is do a scraping on her mouth and face, to test for mites I guess. She ate a little too after we brought her home and she’s been basking ever since. I’m really glad to see her basking because she hasn’t done much basking since she got sick. She seems like she’s on the road to recovery!

Glad to hear she got a good vet check up......Don’t be to alarmed if her appetite decreases a little bit because of the worm meds...But just keep an eye on her......Oh also keep her well hydrated.... Keep us updated............................

She spent all day today basking, which she hasn’t done in weeks. I think she’s feeling better but didn’t eat today :( The Vet said her jawbone was flexing which is a result of the high phos level. He also brought up the MBD acronym and said that’s why the phos was high. I think that maybe the MV bulb brand might be crappy so I’m going t order her a T-Rex. Hopefully that will solve the problem, because her diet is spot on.
