Another sad story I was drivin around with gaston. we stopped at petsmart....horrible place. i had a little teaching session. people were sayin that igs eat mice and they stay small so i talked alot of eople out of an ig. by the way he is really taming nicely which makes the girls approach....but anyway. we drive around and i saw a nice size pet place. turns out its pretty nice. all animals had alot more space than most other places. even the reptiles. but they didnt look like they had heat lights and stuff. but they could have had some other system. but when you first walk in there is a an ig enclosure. he had to be bigger than jessies whip and looked older too. he had nothing to climb on. he was on some coconut stuff. and his heat lamp was at the top of the enclosure(about 3ft up) he was really dark and didnt move once. not even when he saw gaston climbing all over me. i asked if he was for sale and no one in the store knew. they kept saying i think hes some guys. how do you have an animal at your store you know nothing about. i would love to buy him and give him to a guy at my church who ive been teaching about igs and is interested in getting one. it sucks. no store ive been to takes care of reptiles the right way. wait there was one but they pretty much specialize in reptiles....they breed too. they also had 2 different species of turtles in the same 20gal tank. side necks and res. all 6-8in. it was disgusting

Another sad story the pet store in my area has 3 sulcata tortises (sorry i spelled that wrong) in a big 5ish by 5ish wooden box. Also the iggs in their have a heat lamp that is about 5 inches away, there babies, so they can easily get burned.

Another sad story If the animals look unhealthy it can be reported to the SPCA or humane society.
