 My Pectinata Female Is Here

Well, after a long wait, my female pectinata finally showed up in the mail.
Here are some pics of my studly male:

And here are some shots of the girl:

As you can see, the male is just noticing her:

And here they are together:

Lots of head bobbing going on today. I hope everything works out ok. So far no violence.

Thanks

-Chris

They get about 30 inches. That’s why I like them. Much easier than a green iguana.

Thanks Jessi. She is doing well, but has some scarring on the flank. Apparently the males can be very rough.

Awwww poor little girl....My little Morkie (WD) has lost her spikes on her neck from Junie..He gets a little rough sometimes when he’s horny...LOL..... I sometime have to remove him or her so they get a break from each other.....

I swear I’m going to make some kind of collar for these poor females that get chewed up by the males.......LOL...I can call it "The Love Collar".......LOL.....

Thanks for bumping the post, Chris. Congratulations! You have a pair of one of the most sought after iguanas in the country right now. I wish you the best with them and will be first in line when you produce your first cute little green babies.

This is way off topic but just to lighten the sadness about the Blues here are a few photos of my male Red Tegu taken yesterday at the pet expo. It was about 70 degrees outside but the concrete and rocks really heated up and he loved it.

Chris,

They are beautiful. I do hope the little girl is settling in and those two are playing nicely. All the best with them.

Jif, your Tegu is absolutely amazing and beautiful.

Wishing all a good day ahead

Toni~

Update: Thanks everyone. They are getting along great, and now share a burrow. I haven’t witnessed any aggression over food or basking areas either. I have high hopes for the future.

 My Pectinata Female Is Here

We were exhibiting at the Mid Michigan Family and Pet Expo at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw. It was huge for a brand new event and they had a terrific turnout. We took mostly adoptable stuff with us but I took Cliff and a couple of the large Cyclura iguanas because they really draw in the spectators. Clifford drew quite a crowd while he was outside and people were taking a lot of photos of him. We got some good adoption apps while were were there and sent forms home with some people to mail back.

This coming Saturday we will be attending an adoption event in Warren at the Jim Riehl Jeep dealership. We will be the only reptile group among many dog breed rescue groups and it should be a fun event. We did one very similar last August at the Jim Riehl Hummer dealership and had a great time.

Thats really cool to do all those things. At the West Michigan Reptile Expo I had seen a male red tegu that looked like yours so thats why I asked.
thanks
