To Lizardking, about my brother that is too cute. you can tell your little girl that SOMEONE felt it was necessary to throw all his food around the cage and make a HUGE mess today. he has also moved his hide near the middle of the cage again, and once again has mangled the paper towels he’s on. sure he’s cute, but he is quite the bratty one:) he doesn’t seem to be quite as skittish as usual today, not freaking out by people, but he has gone through his little "spazes" where he runs around raising heck. he did eat a few bites of the mess he made today. im starting to worry that he hasn’t pooped yet, its been a week today since i got him! any thoughts on how i can get him to go without stressing him out?

To Lizardking, about my brother good to hear from you! "Acorn-head" was getting quite distraught. I’m a little concerned if your baby hasn’t pooped yet. Acorn pooped yesterday and today. She also ate a good portion of her food. I fed her a lot, and the pie like portion missing in the picture is what she ate early. She also snacked later and had a tiny bit more. Are you sure he hasn’t pooped yet? The poops are small and easy to dismiss. Once they dry up they look a lot like smeared veggies.

To Lizardking, about my brother I know that you researched rhinos for quite a while before getting him, but I just want to make sure you checked that all the temps were correct before hand(?). We set up the 20L according to commendations and found the temps too cool, so we added the under-tank heater before she arrived to be sure all her temps were ok. The addition seems to keep her in the right range day & night, and she pooped both yesterday and today, so we hope we are doing what’s best for her. Watch out for the little "pooplets". They are about the size of small mouse droppings, and once the food has been scattered they are even harder to identify. I find it hard to believe that your baby has been eating for over a week without defecating...you probably just missed it.

To Lizardking, about my brother Maybe he just doesn’t have to go. Could he be constipated? Or maybe he got curiously hungry? LoL! ~Ryo~

To Lizardking, about my brother Good news! i did find one this morning and it is TINY. his basking spot ranges from 100-115(depending on the time of day and if i put the heater on-i’m downstairs), the cool end around 80. the cool end drops to like just 78 at night. i actually had the opposite problem at first, my cage was too hot for him. my basking spot was like 123 and thats a bit too high for a baby.

To Lizardking, about my brother it usually isnt above 105. and if its over it wont kill him. the st.pierres breed rhinos and they have their babies with a basking spot around 110, adults to 120.

To Lizardking, about my brother I’ve been told up to 110, but absolutely no higher. Baby isn’t that high though, 100-105. She’s doing amazingly well so far by the way, and eats like a horse and poops every day like clockwork. She has started spending most of her time out of her hide watching us or doing her thing the last couple days too, and doesn’t seem shy at all. We can’t wait to take her out either, as so far she’s only been held for a couple minutes while changing her paper. While she didn’t want to be picked up, she calmly climbed off my hand after and went to go bask. I expected her to run and hide! We hope to have her out longer tomorrow, as we need to change the papers again since she poops everywhere (but not yet on us JIF!)Thanks for you’re concern!
