Annie, the watermelon truly has helped with his dehydration issues. I cannot bathe him so I need to hydrate as much as possible and of course have Ant’s room crumbling due to the near rainforest like humidity..hehe If I were to put a whole watermelon down he would engulf it! The one time I went in with a big piece (as I was going to break it up right there) he lunged and grabbed it from me and I was wrestling with him for it or he would have swallowed it whole :) It is definitely his "trigger" food but besides using the juice to keep his food moist, I do not give him much of the actual fruit as it goes right through him. Yesterday I knock on Ant’s door and manage to open it (humidity does wonders for doors) and mind you, Ant on the computer has his back facing Sam’s hab so I am like: "Ant, why is the lizard on the floor"? Seems like Sam got out and was just standing there waiting to be noticed. Have a wonderful day Tone~ xo |

That watermelon served as a huge hydration aid during his illness and now I pretty much use it to saturate his greens instead of water on them. He loves it BUT too much of a good thing is never good. I have his humidity around 80% now and he is just loving it. Of course, my son is not. Oh well..he wanted an Iguana :D Take care and have a wonderful day Tone~ |
