Myclonic jerking 
i posted a question about this about a year ago. it has become an issue again though. my ig will suddenly jerk like he’s startled. it’s been happening more frequently recently. it’s not like a seizure or a bunch of jerky motions, it’s just like one sudden jerk of his whole body at the same time, and that’s it. he has a very good diet, calcium supps 3 times a week,his bones are in excellent shape and he gets the proper heat and light, so i’m not leaning towards the possibility that it’s a sign of MBD. what causes these spasms and are they normal? he does it almost every day now, sometimes more than once a day.

I think it is normal. Sleestack will do that from time to time too. It seems like they are startled but for no apparent reason.

sorry i don’t know what it is. however, my adult female blue tegu does the exact same thing you are talking about. she doesn’t do it every day, but like once or twice a week. and i believe she only started doing it a few months ago, but i could be wrong about that. and like your iguana, she has the proper temps and humidity, and is healthy as a horse. ive been wondering what it was too, she is just so healthy and eats so well i havent thought it was a lot to worry about. i hope someone here knows what it is.

I was also wondering the same thing.My iggy has started to do the jerking thing just recently too.He’s just turned 5yrs old and the month or so I have noticed the jerks.It tends to happen almost every day, maybe only once or twice tho!
