Saw something horrible 
I went to a local petshop the other day. I saw a 1.5’ iguana housed with two HUGE red tail boas with no heat lamps. The poor thing looked terrified! And it was such a gorgeous iguana. I can’t believe these people. I sent in a complaint and the owner of store store obviously doesn’t care. I feel terrible for not buying the iguana because it may be dead by now. But on the other hand I didn’t want to support this petstore by buying it. They wouldn’t give it up for free. I don’t see why not, they obviously didn’t care about it. It is places like this that gives pet stores a bad rep. This happened last week and I’m still upset about it. I feel terrible.

that is really terrible. DEFINITELY report this to your local animal welfare agency and follow up w/ them to find out what’s been done. i would hope that the place gets shut down!!

My locle petland has two desert iguanas both have there own ten gallon tank... they are both housed on sand, both have no food noyl a few specks of what looks like lettuce throughout the cage and one had no water! both have sunken in sides and look very unhappy/hungray.... poor little guys... they are both so nice but if they weren’t 140$ ON SALE I would take them both home..... dam I hate pet stores... I’m tellin’ them something the next time I’m there.

I think you have me confused with someone else (Spiketail maybe?), as I have never "gotten on your case", and wasn’t trying to with my last question either. It was just a question. I’m dropping the matter now, and just hope you remember that "Spiny-Ig" has not posted anything negative about/towards you ever on this forum and refrain from using profanities toward me in the future when I ask a simple question.Thanks

Back to the subject. If i were there i would report that myself. but if those store owners have a problem they will get knocked out by a father of two male green iguanas. one four years old the other one is two.

LOL Give me a good tail whacking too! :::Whap-POW!::I’d call the police and let THEM call the animal control, say it’s an animal abuse issue and that you’re not leaving unitl animal control shows up, then the police HAVE to come out to warn you off of a traspassing charge. Peaceful protesting, sit down near the cage if you have to. A little radical maybe but I’m an animal lover and since they’re like our kids..well you get the idea! :)
