I was given an adult male green iguana. HE did not bite me all he did was tounge flick my hand. He has a cage but the problem with him is that he is really skinny and I never see him eat. the previos owner says he has to force feed him sometimes. he drinks water in front of me with no problem, but he wont eat.his spikes dont look right. What should i do.

NEED HELP!
I adopted an iguana like that, she’s very underweight and wouldn’t eat. I had to isolate her cage into the back office until she was out of danger. Heavy suppliments & calcium. She has gained weight and sheeded since being left alone and we can finally move her into the master bedroom, but very slowly. Sometimes, they need quiet to de-stress themselves.

NEED HELP! You need a uv light, calcium, some vitamins, and a good diet. (collards, mustards, turnip greens, escarole, endive, watercress, dandelion, squash). Try adding some fruit like mango, berries, papaya, melon. Colors and diff. flavors may tempt your new ig. Get a fecal as suggested above (fresh one to the vet).

NEED HELP! again, get him to a vet immediately. i would advise anyone who acquires a new pet to do so as soon as they get them. if your iggy is drinking water but not eating he could be dehydrated, too. what are the cage temps? are u using a uvb bulb? what kinds of food are you offering?
