Yes, they are difficult and I don’t recommend them unless you are stable (out of school and have a job for vet bills and supplies). They can be very aggressive and are hard to deal with due to their size (large cage needed, sharp claws, etc.) Bearded dragons make better pets.

Hey, I wouldn’t get one if I were you. Most likely its gonna get to big for you to hold (cus your a kid) and then it wont be a fun pet. I would get a AFTG or something cute like that.

You really have to want one and to do all the research first. You have to understand that they do get very big and will take up a lot of room. They are expensive creatures to keep. Also you have to look at the future as alot of people think they can keep one but then I know they often gt abandoned or people arent able to tame them as they get too big to be handled and then people asume they are violent creatures.I’m not saying that this will happen if you get one but you do really have to understand the needs and the amount of time invovled in caring for one. I got my iggy as my first lizard 5yrs ago and didnt realise he needed as much care and also now he is so big how much space he takes up....not to mention the electric bills!!!!!!But I wouldn’t have him any other way!
Why not get a little crested gecko....( which I’m off to pick 2 up this afternoon)They are cute little critters

Yeah but they need to live in a large enclosure so if you have got the room then great...but sadly if you dont then you really shouldn’t get one.Why not try a smaller lizard that you will definately be able to handle? It’s ok saying that you can pick up your dog but you have to be careful when handling an iggy of their claws and also their tail.Getting whipped by a tail can be nasty.

If I was you I would think about getting a gecko. That way at least you can ensure you will have the room for one.

you could get a chinese water dragon, they only get about 3 feet long, and it takes about 3 years b4 they reach sexual maturity. read up on them and then see if u want to get one.
