 Poops happen here ???

I just got an iguana yesterday from a friend who didn’t have time to take care of him....He is eating fine..seems to be adjusting well to his new surroundings but I haven’t seen any poops..How often do they do this and is this a problem that I haven’t seen anything in his cage ?

Maybe you should try soaking him in a shallow tub of warm water for a little while. If that don’t work he may be impacted and will require a vet’s attention.

please... mine doesn’t poop unless i get him out of the cage and put him in the tub- he’s potty trained now! it’s not even a good thing because there are so many times when he won’t let me take him out of the cage, even when he hasn’t gone for 3 days.. i took him to the vet about this, and he says it’s nothing to worry about as long as he’s not dehydrated, which he isn’t. i would definitely get a full check-up from the vet before determining anything though.in the meantime, soak all of his veggies prior to feeding, bathe him daily or at least a few times a week and mist him many times per day.

Any poops yet?! It’s been 2 days since the original post, and you haven’t let us know if there have been any changes (meaning poops). My 2 yr old spiny poops a HUGE one every morning without fail, and the baby rhino seems to go 1-3 times a day (more if I’m holding him/her, lol). I didn’t post sooner because I don’t have greens, but the green owners seem to say the same, so I’m now concerned. How old is the ig you rescued, and how long has it been with you? If it’s eating, it should be pooping. Baths don’t work for us. Every other reptile I’ve owned has immediately pooped in warm water, but not Dwayne. She has never once gone in the tub, but continues to leave us her "present" every morning. I too recommend a vet visit immediately if it hasn’t gone in several days, and still recommend one if it has just so that you are aware of any other current/potential problems.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you will let us know when it goes, or how the vet visit went if you’ve taken it in.
