???misguiding vet??? I posted a message a while back about my if having an abcess....I took him to the vet and he cut the abcess off his foot...i thought he had gotten it from a sliver or a cut that got infected....the vet told me it was poor nutrition and lack of protien.....he told me to add protien into his diet such as hard boiled eggs or water packed tuna......(he told me the stuff i feed him is almost all water an has no nutritional value-i wanted to argue with him-but is he wrong or am i)i have always thought they couldnt have things like that before i always fed him romaine lettuce, mustard greens, collard green, and fresh veggies an fruits sliced on top.....my ig is slightly slender (i wouldnt say really skinny but it wouldnt hurt for him to gain a little)and the vet is going against everything i was taught.....does anyone know of anything else i could give him to put on a little weight...?????that just doesnt sound right to me....could he maybe have parasites.....would that cause him to not gain weight very easily....i dont know ...my ig is approximately 10 years old and he was always fine up until this past year.....and its been frustrating.....

???misguiding vet??? No protein...you are correct. The vet is clueless.Avoid romaine and focus on the other greens you’ve been feeding. (collard, mustard, turnip, dandelion, escarole, endive, watercress) Do you have a uv light and how old is it? How close does your ig bask to it and is it covered with plastic or glass?

???misguiding vet??? DONT FEED NODDLES! don’t even listen to that vet he’s stupid... yes stupid, green iguanas shouldnt be fed any animal protine(tuna, eggs, bugs) because it will give them liver desiese and/or kidney failure! Thatcant be a uvb light... uvb lights genraly are only 15 watts! or is it a power sun uvb bulb? A uvb bulb prodives no heat, a crimeic heater at night wont do any good if hes cold during the day, I strongy suggest yuo get him and a fresh fecal sample to a vet that knows what hes talking about asap to have him testedfor parristeis, also offer some parsnip, acorn & butter nut squash and some mango, prickley pear and papyaya.
