QUESTIONS Mine seemed like it was always in a shed but it varies. As long as your temps, humidity and diet are good for your Iguana, then no need to worry.
shedding
And if your Iguana WAGS his or her tail, most likely they are mad. This is being done often? How old is your Iguana?

QUESTIONS Tail flailing is definitely a sign of aggression. Snoopy used to always do that when I would get near him when I first had him.

QUESTIONS you may want to cut the fruit chunks up more. they should be either as big or smaller than your iggys mouth span.
i learned last night that blenders are a blessing...ive been breaking up shela’s food by hand...but not i toss the veggies in the blender. hehe

QUESTIONS DARK SURFACE ABSORB LIGHT AND HEAT BETTER, SO YOU IG MAY BE COLD AND WANTS TO WARM UP FASTER. MY IG ALSO TURNS A BLUISH HUE WHEN HE’S SHOWING AGGRESSION. A GRAY OR OPAQUE HUE HE’S PROBABLY GETTING READY TO SHED.

QUESTIONS Ok I was wondering what happened to this thread. And yes wood chips are very bad!! Your iguana will ingest them slowly over time and there will be a block in the digestive tract. It may not happen for awhile but it will gradually build up. You know what that means? Mucho Dinero$$$$ at the vet. Most people use something that is easy to replace such as paper towels or newspaper.

QUESTIONS absolutely put him in the tub, mine is shedding right now as well and if there’s big flaps of skin that are irritating them just take off the skin that is already peeled off. DO NOT PULL OFF ANY SKIN THAT IS ATTACHED STILL. if there’s skin that is having trouble coming off, for Boo it’s around his neck especially on the spikes, use a q-tip and put some olive oil on it. q-tips can also help reach underneath their arms around their "arm pit", i guess would be the region where some more shedding problems happen.

QUESTIONS donatello takes a shower with me every day. it not only helps his skin, but it gives me a little more time with him on a very busy schedule. of course, he’s really tame and afraid of nothing. he’s shedding ALL the time, which i count as a blessing because only healthy igs shed. his skin gets stuck around his spikes. when it’s wet, i tug softly on it, and if it comes off, great, and if it doesn’t i leave it alone. ’tello seems to appreciate it, though. he holds very still for the attention.

QUESTIONS original poster, have you done any research of your own at all? ALL of these questions can be answered within one hour of searching through these threads in the iguana forum. there is more than enough information if you are willing to take the time to read through them. it might be a good idea to do research first, then build an enclosure second, then get proper lighting/heating third, then get proper food, then get the iguana once you get all that set up and taken care of. from the looks of it, you did it in the opposite order...good luck.
