Black section on the end of turners tail!

i remember awhile back someone else had this issue with their iguana, i forget who though. i will post pictures tonight of it so you can see what i mean. it basically is about 1/4" long and is all black, no scales or normal tail skin if you will. when i touch that section, he doesnt squirm or anything.

if anyone remembers who had the same problem let me know. or if anyone has any idea of what this is, please let me know.

btw, turner has been steadily growing at the rate of 1" a month, woohoo!!!

Two questions--could it be stuck on shed? Has your ig lost part of it’s tail before? If no to both of these, I would seek a vet’s advice. Black could indicate a fungal infection. Don’t wait around, take them to the vet.

thanks for the replies. tone, yes it is at the very end of his tail. i do not believe he/she has ever dropped its tail, as it is a full length tail with the bandings all intact on it. i forgot to take a pic last night, will do so tonight. i might try to treat it with some neosporin in the meantime.
