 New Adult Iguana!!! sheesh!!!

Okay so I just got this, I guess, sub adult Green Iguana, she seems to be rather healthy as the previous owner took DECENT, I repeat DECENT care of her, meaning he has takin her to the vet and had her checked for parasites within the last year, What bothers me is she seems somewhat nervous around people, She kinda tilts away from whoever is approaching her and when you try to pick her up she lashes and scratches but hasnt even gaped, let alone bitten. We moved her into a farely large out door enclosure with a bunch of branches and trees she can climb on, she has everything a green would need and she has a GREAT appetite and downed nearly a whole bundle of greens when I brought her home. lol. she also has some toe and tail damage...

I will post pics if requested or needed.

Thank You, FM

LOL nice pics. Your iggy is beautiful, love the coloring. Not sure on the enclosure but looks good from what I can see. How are you keeping the humidity up?

She is a lil beat up, as you will see in future pics but she is very lively. another thing...about how long should an iguanas toenails be??? hers are almost an inch long!!! If She lets me get close enough to her i will get some good shots.

Since we only put that cage together yesteday, so we are still working on it, but we are planning on installing some misters, but for right now we just give the cage a good soaking, the sun does the rest. =] I monitor it by a couple of thermometers/humidity gauges, scattered around the cage. =]

Thanks for the input.

she looks a bit dehydrated. I’ve had my ig for 6 years and she still tilts away and acts skittish around everyone, so sometimes, that’s just part of their personality. If anything else, once she acclimates she’ll warm up to you! Good luck!
