Iguana or Water Dragon???
We aquired a lizard recently and were told that it was an iguana. We have been interested in reptiles for awhile and have two leopard geckos, so we decided that this would be a big (literally) commitment, but we would take the iguana. After having it for a few days though, it doesn’t really look like an iguana - I think its a water dragon. I am posting this message on both forums to get some ideas from those of you that have these animals and hopefully I can figure out what it is. We are really excited to have it, no matter what it is, but also want to know what it is. Thanks!

Iguana or Water Dragon??? lol thats a water dragon. where did you get it from and who told you it was an iguana? i have absolutely no experience with water dragons, but it looks like its a little skinny. do you have uvb lighting on him? do some research on the net on chinese water dragons and you’ll be able to figure out how to care for him properly (obviously who ever had him didn’t know jack, they didnt even know what it is!). good luck!

Thanks!
Thank you! He sure is. We gave him some big fat crickets tonight and I think he’ll love us forever now! This morning he flung his salad across the cage then pooped in his water. Glad we figured this out because I don’t want to know what other forms of rebellion he could think up! He ought to grow like crazy now and FINALLY be a healthy reptile.
