 Bump

My Ig has a small bump above his right eye, should I be concerned it’s not big but I don’t want him to be sick. He’s been healthy since I got him a few months ago

Is the bump new? If it is, I would recommend taking him to see a vet. If your iguana is young, he could possibly have an abcess (walled-off infection under the skin) from when he was in a cage with lots of other baby iguanas at the pet store, although without seeing your iguana, I cannot have any clue what the problem is. A good rule of thumb with iguanas: if you are concerned about their health, go to the vet. It is much better to catch a problem early than to wait until it is too late.

Could your iguana be about to shed? Sometimes shedding scales can look a little bumpy.

Can you post a pic? Sounds like trouble. I’d see a vet. He probably needs it removed. Do you have a uv light, heat light, calcium? What is your diet?

Sorry can’t post a pic, but it’s starting to go a grey around it, I have gave him calcium and greens and juv ig dry food, and a uv light
Now i’m thinking that he’s about to shed again, this morning it was just a little bump still and tonight it looks like it’s ready to start to shed, so I’ll see in the morning if he doesn’t start to shed I got a number for a good vet today and I’ll take him in asap

when you say uv light, do you mean uvb or uva? the uvb rays are the kind needed to process nutrients, ward off MBD and so on... also, how far away is the bulb positioned from the basking spot? keep in mind, UVB bulbs need to be replaced about every 4 months. Don’t wait for them to burn out. They lose UVB power long before. It sucks to throw em out so often, but you have to.

I have the correct uv, the ppl at the store where I got all of my stuff made sure I had the right one, and the light shines over the basking area

i agree with the person that said to take it to the vet because it could be from being with all the other babys or the shedding part i would take him right away
