Food and Vitamins I’ve had my green ig for a little while, he’s still small about 16 inches. I’ve been giving him calcium with his food. I’m unaware aware of what kind of vitamins I should be giving him and how often. And is it bad to feed him the same thing almost all of the time. his diet has consisted of Romain lettuce, green beans carrots, and fruit every so often is this good? He has seem to be healthy, just shed and is a good healthy green and by his behavior he seems to be healthy. Just wanted to know what else I should be feeding him to keep him healthy for as long as possible

Food and Vitamins If you want to keep him healthy you will have to make some major adjustments to the diet. Iguanas do best with a widely varied diet. Staples should include Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, Turnip Greens, Dandelion Greens, Chicory (Endive), Watercress, Green Beans, Parnsips, winter squash (butternut, acorn, spaghetti, turban). Other veggies can be added to add variety, such as bell peppers, snap peas, sweet potato, summer squashes, okra, etc. Fruit should provide less than 5% of the diet. Romaine lettuce (or any member of the lettuce family) is nutritionally useless. If provided with a diet very similar to the one above and adequate heat and UVB, your iguana should do well without supplementation. If you want to supplement, a good multivitamin and calcium product could be used once or twice a week. I use Miner-al.
