Why does she DO that???arrrgghh!!!
Why is is that whenever we put a nice, fresh salad in her cage-usually 2-3 times a day-she feels the need to run in it and toss it everywhere!!! I’m cleaning her cage nearly every day due to all the food thrown around! and if that isn’t enough-she’s decided to stop using her "hot tub" to poop in, She goes everywhere now, even I’m not sure how she does it,stuck to the side of her dish! She’s crazy! But such an angel when she’s asleep! LOL

Why does she DO that???arrrgghh!!! Are you sure it’s a "she?" I know that the male tends to charge the food dish, scattering everything all over the place. Their instinct to fight is more powerful than their need to feed. When you approach their domain, it doesn’t matter what offering you have in hand, your iguana is looking at you and not the dinner plate. His main objective is taking care of you, then he’ll entertain his hunger. Although they tend to defecate in the water, it’s not a hard-fast rule. If they miss the dish once, they’ll probably miss it again. It starts by having just their front feet in water, thinking their whole body is in water (they don’t know). Then they get comfortable going in different areas, maybe to mark, I don’t know. I do know if your iguana defecates in your living room, he will always do it in the same spot when he gets to it the next day, so be careful. Anyway, there’s nothing unusual about what you described. It’s all part of the care--the good, the bad and the ugly.

Why does she DO that???arrrgghh!!! There is one obvious distinction u might be able to find. On the top of the head, just behind the eyes, there may be 2 large humps. If these are present, then u have a male, if not then female
