Eeek....need advice!

Sleestack is continuing to drive us crazy with his poopy paintings and hyperactivity. He has more injuries than he has ever had before. Most of them are not a problem but will just take time to heal. I still cannot figure out exactly how he is managing to injure his feet so strangely but I found an injury on his toe today that concerns me. It is rather deep, near the joint. I washed it and put neosporin on it a couple times but I will need to keep an eye on it in case it becomes infected. My question is have any of you used that fake skin stuff? I am just wondering if I could use this to cover his wound or if it will suffocate his scales in a harmful manner. I would feel much better if it were sealed in some way so it can heal. I just don’t think a bandaid will work. He is so active, I wonder if anything will stay on it. You should have seen him fighting me today while I tried to give him a bath! (he was filthy from his poopy painting). He is so strong and has so much energy it is unreal! I would hold him while he swam in place or thrashed his arms and legs in place for several minutes before we would call a truce and he would be still for 1 minute so I could wash him some more! He would then try to jump out, try to jump on me, try to swim away from me, and splash me! It was insanity! I almost think he was enjoying this...he certainly is stubborn. Usually he lets me wash him without any trouble...he loves it but I guess since it warmed up, he doesn’t want to take a bath now! Before I would try to get him out of the tub, and he would jump back in because he wasn’t finished! He is a devil! |

| Nevermind about the liquid skin stuff. I got some and tried it on myself (never used it before). It doesn’t seem like it would work for his wound anyway. I may try to fashion a bandage for him. |

Wellcome to the breeding season igs owners!!

Mine still love to take a bath but to take them out of their cages became a drama!!At least they dont want to attack me as Godzilla is trying!I do hope Kenya is not going to become a green monster too when he grows up!Do you know what?He drunk water from my hands yesterday!I gave him a bowl of water and he drank while he was in my hands!Isnt that cute??If im send to a cold country to where i cannot take all my igs , guess which one ill take? When my igs become too much wild i remember my first Shena,so sweet and so lethargic. Then im happy they are wild...Think about that. |

| Yep, a bandage sounds like it might be the way to go. Poor Slee! Ever try this stuff? It works pretty good for reptiles because there isn’t any adhesive to cling to their scales. Vet Wrap Kling gauze made for humans is another decent option, but not so claw and tooth-proof. Slee, quit hurting yourself, okay? I guess my grandma was right, testosterone does create insanity. |

| Yeah I had that stuff too eyespy. My nieghbor was trying to put it on my beaded dragon when her arm was bit. But here arm was way too small to wrap. Maybe Slee is crapping all over the place because its sensing FlapJack. Like marking territory. Magellan does that once in a while. I kept putting babie bearded dragons by his food area. Then one day he just went to the bathroom there...which he never ever has done. Good luck. PE |

Re: Re: Re: Re: Eeek....need advice!
Thanks eyespy. I wonder if I could get that locally. I used a small bandaid and some fist aid tape over it. I’m hoping it will stay on today. If he continues to be so active he is going to end up really messing that toe up to the point where he may lose it. My cage isn’t hardware cloth so I’m still not sure how he did that. We are modifying his jungle gym this weekend to hopefully cut down on some of his injuries. We figure if we make it wider, he can’t jump off the side like he does sometimes. He’ll have to climb down the way he does when he is more patient.PE...I don’t think he is jealous of Flapjack. Sometime I will video tape them together so you can see how he acts around him. It is very interesting in that he seems completely cool with him. Flapjack is the one that gets pissed at him! |

| The pharmacist at CVS has ordered in that kind of bandage for me when I’m running low so maybe they can get some at your own drug store if needed. It trims down really well to wrap small areas. Lordy, I sure hope he doesn’t lose his toe. Poor Slee. |

Oh yes, they do that!
My igs never poop inside the house.I guess they are used to poop in their cages. One day i dont know why TREX pooped under a side table.Im happy he didnt do it on my carpet!LOL!For a whole week each time i let one of my others igs to go inside the house, he would go to the same spot and poop to cover the smell (???I cleaned i cleaned the place but i suppose they still could smell the poop!!)just like dogs do to mark their territory! |

Re: Oh yes, they do that!

Well I do know that they get into habits that’s for sure! The problem is, Sleestack is tricking us by going in the tub a couple times per week but screwing up the rest of the week! He had another plug so I guess breeding season isn’t over. Oh this has to be the longest one I remember....worst year ever. I am thankful that he is not aggressive but wish I could ship him off to visit someone else about now! How about auntie eyespy or Flavia or uncle PE? He will make you some nice artwork free of charge. |

LOL, after 12 years of being with an artist, I am up to my elbows in paintings. I’ll let Flavia and PE flip a coin for the honors. |
