 Sleestack! Breeding season destruction

Things could be worse I guess because he isn’t violent but man is he driving me insane lately! Tonight after his bath, he wandered around the house looking to see what he could destroy. The last I saw him he was eating dinner in his cage. I guess I left the cage open a crack and he got out.

I have this big old ghetto blaster type radio...very heavy with 2 detachable speakers. After hearing a big crash, I went to find he had pulled it off a shelf and it was broken on the tile floor and laying on top of his tail! He seems okay but I’ll keep an eye on his tail. It landed on the fat meaty part. I just hope the rest of him didn’t get hit. He walked and climbed up his jungle gym fine, however, so I’m thinking he’s okay.

Aside from that, he has been flinging his food all over his cage everyday! Today he had squash on his back, stuck to his spines, and veggies flung on every shelf and wall! Everyday this is happening. His hormones are raging and he doesn’t know what to do with himself. He’s had a couple seminal plugs already.

I’d guess theres no way around it. Being a non domesticated animal, he isn’t likely to stop acting up until the season is over. Just be glad he isnt agressive.

Poor Slee...all dressed up with no place to go...

The Captain’s been a little explorer lately too...we actually have to shut his cage doors and lock him in, or we will look over and an iguana will be sitting on one of our Christmas present, trying to eat the bow....

on the other hand - his spikes are turning a beautiful orange color...

My bernard is also going through the destructive stage. His cage is trashed every single day and thinks its clever coz when I look at the mess he kind of gives me a side ways glance as if to say ha!!! look what i’ve done....again!!!!!
He has flung all his food all over the place and keeps ripping down his plants that are already hung securely......argh!!!!
But I still love him!:)
