Breeding Season?!?! 
How long does breeding season last? How old (how big, i guess i should ask, since i’m not sure of her age) do they have to be to have hormones start messing around with their normal behavior?S/he’s about 6" long from nose to vent. My ig’s dorsal spines have turned orangy. I’ve heard that only males tend to turn orangeish, but i’ve also heard that females do as well. Does anyone know which it is? I’m still not sure what sex my ig is. Heh, i forgot how aggresive they can get during this season. Normally Midori runs, but wont try to bite me when i have to catch her for something. Now i better watch out for those teeth unless i want to lose a finger, lol. Gotta love igs.

It really varies from ig to ig. It will probably last a couple months at least. You cannot tell the sex from the color although males do tend to get more orange in breeding season, but that is not a definite sign. You need to look at jowels, femoral pores, etc.
