Return it and adopt a healthy one. People should stop buying IGs from the pet shops so they stop selling them. There are so many IGs looking for homes already it isn’t funny. Anyway how is the IGs color? Weight? and overall condition? Answer these to give us a better Idea as to what may be the problem and we will be able to offer opinions as to a course of action. Tony

Iguana not eating and not moving at all please help Get it to the vet. NOW. With broken toes and a gashed nose and missing nails, it needs to see a vet IMMEDIATELY. Its probably very undernourished as well. What do you feed it? If you dont already, feed it LOTS of greens and some vegetables. No lettuce though. Its got no nutrients at all for igs. Good luck with it and i hope it gets better soon!!

Apparently you got yourself one of the iguanas that were kept in a tank with other iguanas and most likely this one was never able to find its way to the food bowl without getting a rough treatment from the others. It also probably came in contact with something much bigger then it. I do not ever suggest taking home an unhealthy iguana specially a young one as the chances of it survive are very slim and the fact that you bought it from a pet store makes the sitatuation worse as now you are supporting them to get more and still allow them to be miss-treated as they know people will feel sorry for them and think their cute and buy them anyway. I suggest pounding down hard on the store you got it from and speaking to the owner of the store about how you arent going to shop their anymore after seeing the condition of some of the pets kept in the store who never saw a vet because itd be cheaper for them to allow them to die. When your "product" is below normal standards there should be a serious problem for your store. Would you buy food that had gashs and missing pieces in it? I didnt think so.. so why should pet stores be allow to sell injuried animals to people who are just trying to help. If you really care as much as most of us do you would get that ig to a vet today and you would also find the manager of the store and give him a few broken bones and other injuries ;]
