Lily’s progress (and donatello’s MOOD) 
well, the bump is still a plain, old bump, no bigger, no smaller, and still apparently not the slightest bit painful. i think it’s a wart, but with all my running around online i haven’t actually ascertained whether iguanas can actually get warts. whatever it is, taking care of it has certainly changed her personality: she’s gone from vicious, flesh-eating to pretty crabby. for lily that’s miraculous! i can pick her up by putting my hand under her chest and belly now, rather than using a death-grip behind her head like she’s a rattlesnake. i let her out for a little while today after i put her medicine on, and she climbed all over jim and the couch. when i came in with my dinner in my hand, she was in my seat and determined not to move. i squooshed in beside her anyway, and shoved her over w/my butt, lol! i wouldn’t have been brave enough to try that a month ago. she has not the slightest fear of any of the furry animals; she just goes about her business.
now, ’TELLO is such a male! i take him out of his cage for his bath and he air-swims all the way. he crawls up the towel when i offer it to him, nice and calm...and then i try to put him back in his cage--he EXPLODES, crashes into the side of his cage, falls on the floor, and then does a couple of hundred-yard dashes around the inside of the cage (avoiding the door, which is wide open) and comes to a stop up in the corner under his vines and stays there for hours. he’s completely insane. and of course he can’t be out if lily is out, because it’s breeding season, and she’d either shred him--he’s half her size--or i’d end up with 60 baby iguanas. i don’t like either option.
and of course neither of them are eating. lily will if i’ll hold a collard leaf for her; donatello won’t no matter what.
and rio sounds like a car that won’t start. i’m afraid she’s going to burn out her starter any minute now. she’s laid 3 eggs in the past few days. i figure about 30 more and we can make an omelet. i’m sure they’re not fertile. tiki is a different breed, and not even for-sure a boy. does anyone know if conures and senegals can mate? that’s something else i haven’t been able to ascertain.
someone at work asked me on friday if i had any plans and i told him no, that i’d probably spend some time with my pets and maybe even stay up till 9:00! i mentioned it to jim later and he pointed out that with the animals we have all over the place, there’s no need to leave home for entertainment.

Oh that great Lily is doing so good...but just be aware that it can change in a heartbeat...they are so unpredictable.....don’t worry to much on the not eating...most important just keep them hydrated....

oh, believe me, i’ve still got a finger that doesn’t quite feel like it belongs to me, as a reminder not to trust her. she drinks out of her cat box (before she poos). it’s so funny to watch, because she half laps, half slurps it in. i’ve only actually seen donatello drink once, but he has a water bottle, and the level regularly goes down, and his urates are nice and white, so i guess they’re both okay in that department.

oh, i forgot. i made her a laying box, per kylie’s instructions, in case she’s gravid. her legs are getting skinny, but her body’s pretty round.

do boy iggys get like girls with the not wanting to eat thing during breeding season, i’ve read your post bout lillys eating with being gravid but how is tello eating since its breeding season? I know stitch isnt eating as much,

oh, he’s NOT. we did this last year. i thought it was the giant black dog i’d rescued, and it might have been, partly, but i know enough now to know it was mostly just breeding season. he’s started leaving "presents" all over his blanky. tell you what, if i syringe feed him a couple times i bet he’ll eat in self-defense. lily did. not much, but enough to keep mommy from squirting blended green beans in her mouth. i wouldn’t recommend it. just make sure your princess doesn’t get dehydrated. annie says that’ll hurt them a lot worse (and a lot faster) than going without food, which apparently iguanas have been doing for centuries w/o our help, since they’re not all extinct, lol!

This year we have full blown breeding season, lol. And I thought last year was bad, haha. I’ve found about 5 presents in random areas of the cage. won’t eat unless there are sweet peas in his food, atleast I found that out. Poor Puff will dart all over the apartment and hit his head at every corner of the room, lol. And he’s actually turning orange in spots this year, and his pores have the waxy stuff coming out. He’s been getting really mean, so I’m mean back, lol. If he opens his mouth I open mine and he shuts his mouth pretty fast. My bf thinks I’m crazy but it works! And I don’t hand feed anymore either, he accidently bit me (no blood though) so now I get those itty bitty plastic cups and put his treat in there and hold the cup, so there is still the interaction atleast.
