 My baby is grown up...

i don’t know...i guess i believed as long as they were chaperoned, they’d be fine. they’ve been taking baths together and no hanky panky. so ’tello’s out because he’s almost always out, on top of lily’s cage, as usual, and lily wanted out, and i decided since i was right there, she could come out. THE MOMENT she exited her cage, ’tello was on the floor with his teeth in her neck. i grabbed him with a towel and i figured he’d just let go. WRONG!!! tapped him on the nose.... tapped him a little bit harder on the nose.... grabbed the spray bottle and nearly drowned him..... dug through my purse with my free hand and grabbed my cell phone. poor annie answers the phone, and the first thing she hears is, "annie! how do i get ’tello to let go of lily!!!"

annie’s laughing...she told me to try tapping him on the nose. she told me to try ice. ’tello’s like, "NO WAY! i finally got ’er!" so annie says leave him alone, he’ll let go on his own. i’m protesting about eggs, and she says "you’re gonna have eggs whether she’s bred or not." she had a point, so i let go. and then realized lily was in no danger of being bred--’tello’s too short! unless he let go of her, he’d be two inches from being able to lock uglies, and he’s not willing to let go!

lily started to walk off.... tello’s still got her by the neck and she’s just dragging him.... she became annoyed, lifted up one big ol’ back leg, and scratched him right off!!! i didn’t even have time to grab the camera! and i was so worried about protecting her! annie’s still laughing. i told her bye and checked lily’s neck. he did manage to puncture the skin, so i put some iodine on it (’cause i can’t find the antibiotic). my poor young lady’s virtue was nearly compromised! ’tello is a MANLY lizard now!
