PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE First thing you need to do it get it warm....what are the temps outside now? It needs a temp of at least 85 degrees. Remember it is a wild iguana and it will not be very happy indoors, but it could save it’s life. How big is it? A lot of the juvenile iguanas will not survive the cold temps you guys had a couple weeks ago. Once it wakes up try and feed it some greens...get it hydrated/mist it with a water bottle. For greens they can eat mustard greens, collard greens, endive.....even some romaine lettuce will help with the hydration. Give it some apple, cut into bite size pieces.....grapes are good as well as squashes. No protein/no meat or bugs at all!!!!
Have you ever had an iguana before?

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Oh that poor iggy....He most likely got too cold more than once in the cold weather you’ve been having...The only thing I can tell you to do is set him up with a basking light and get him warm..try and put him in a warm bath.....Don’t try and feed him yet..main thing is getting him warm....
If he passes on you might try and contact a vet, they might be able to properly dispose of his body...(there might be a small fee)
Well good luck I wish I could help you more..I just can’t think of anything more that I can tell you...Please keep us posted....

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE What about an old fish tank, "large plastic storage tote", old toy box, big card board box, plastic cat or dog carrier, something you can put him in to hold some heat. Hang a heat light and maybe a heating pad under some card board until he’s temps come back up and he starts getting active again. You’ll have to be creative.

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE misting it with warm water will chill it further--the warm water becomes cold water too quickly, and he can’t retain his body heat. i like the idea of a plastic tote or something. you’re fighting a losing battle if you can’t shelter it. would hub at least allow it on the porch? in the garage? can’t he see you have a heart for this? i wish you the best.

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE There are also places that sell chemical heating pads if you have no where to plug one in. They don’t stay warm for that long, but they’re only about $3 and reusable. Maybe your husband would let you bring him inside if he were contained?
Good luck and please keep us updated,

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE If he’s still outside, pouring water is not going to help him, no matter how warm it is. If the temp drops, the water will just freeze and he’ll die quicker. Also, whatever you do, do not get a heat rock. They are, in my opinion, the worst thing a pet company could have invented. They tend to burn the igs stomachs pretty bad, occasionally causing deaths. I’ve also heard of them catching fire as well.
If hub does get the tank(hopefully he does), convince him to either get a heating pad(that goes under the tank, they’re around the same price), or an overhead lamp. Good luck with him, please keep us updated!

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE while i am delighted to hear that hubby has come ’round, joanne is right. pouring water is a very bad idea. put it in a cardboard box, temporarily, if you have nothing else (leave it open, of course). or a rubbermaid container with some newspaper on the bottom. even a plain 100-watt house light bulb will provide heat. i’m assuming if it gets well, you’ll let it go, so you don’t need to worry about special lighting. but it needs a place where it can get warm and stay warm to have any chance at all.

PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE well, i’m happy and relieved for you :)
i hope he has a well-protected home to return to. and if you do get a baby--and i’ve said a hundred times that something about an iguana changes your heart--hang around here for a bit first and learn what it really needs, so that you’ll be a good iguana mom.
congratulations on your first rescue.
