Got to love the weather!! pic heavy!!!!
I absolutly love this great weather we are having, (except the sun, for those who dont know me im a night person lol) but got to keep my girls happy!! and they love every minute of it, more like hour lol. it was 85 degrees yesterday and today, and the breeze was amazing a perfect combo to let everyone outside to catch some rays (as i hide in long sleeves and an umbrella) but anywhoo, martie loves the new yard she even had me climb yet another tree to catch her. I dont mind her going in trees cause they are not real big to loose her in. only 10 feet talll lol but climbing can be a rather big pain in the butt ( no i have yet to fall out of one :P) and she "mows" the yard for us lol. with the help of her trusty and spiky side kick amerestsu. anywhoo here is some pics of the day out hanging out on the pourch
and now in the plant pot
she loves to have her picture taken lol
and hanging out by the car sitting all regal lol
and she finally got tired of wandering around and decided to chill with me..yes she does jump up and want to lay there all snuggled (i swear she thinks she is a cat)
and for good measure she must stick her toung out for the camera

to JoAnn: yeah she is just soaking up every bit of sun.. i let her out for as long as she wants. which is usally most of the day.. till she comes to the porch and sits at the door waiting for me to take her in. she has an amazing personalitly, her expressions are priceless... you can literally tell what she is trying to tell you. and she is goofy as heck... i just love it^^ |

Martie and I just have a very strong bond, trust and respect.. i also believe she is grateful that i adopted her. she was in such terrible condition when i got her... couldnt walk, climb, was thin and... had injuries but some good tips: train them like a cat... their personality is just like a cat. they dont always want attention nor listen all the time... but they will obey if they must or come when wanting a good scratch. use their favorite treats (i use dandilions or green beans) those are her favorites....call them by their name and if they look give them a treat... eventually they will get the picture.. and move farther away and call their name.. (showing the treat of course) i always pet martie when i walk by her cage, or she hangs out with me when im on the computer (like now lol) i spend tons of time with her... talking to them always helps, verbal and positive reinforcement works wonders on iguanas, like i said their like cats and very sensititive (they dont forget either).. not really sure what other good ideas to tell ya... they learn on their own.. hope i helped |

teaching him to go in the cage just took time and treats lol i’d let him walk up toward the cage, or id carry him and say time for bed everytime i take him up.. then place him near the cage and dangle a treat in the cage and say go in... and if he went in he got the treat and praised... after a while they get the picture and go in... |

My baby forever WIPP was a one of a kind male iguana.. i had him for 5 years hatchling to adult (he had a hard start in life)...and he was very mellow. just a mellow as martie. he was the sweetest most loving male iguana and the most beautiful i have ever handled. we had our issues here and there due to an injury and ppl trying to hurt him. (the city i use to live in was fulll of hateful people toward reptiles and goths) WIPP was truly my best friend and did things that iguanas should not even do... he was like a dog with scales... even protected me from my abusive ex-husband one day..then came to me and nussled my leg. he was my guardian and i cherished him.
he was also abnormal when it came to other iguanas, he never showed aggression toward them.. and martie was his soulmate... and i do believe iguanas show passion and love... my two did there is also a video the friends on the forum made for me on you tube of wipp if you’d like to see it... im soulessone666 some iguanas are just different and some are the stereotypical ones ppl think they all are from jess |
